Miss Daisy Mae, Pensacola, FL

Deformed but Adoptable

Daisy Mae spent almost 4 months in the infirmary of the Humane Society in San Antonio Texas before coming to live with me.

From the news article:
"Every once in a while the Humane Society/SPCA of Bexar County encounters a special kitty determined to survive despite the odds. Daisy, a cute ball of fluff with an adorable personality, is that kind of cat.

The Siamese stray, now 11 months old, showed up at the shelter in February - a desperately ill animal that no one thought would make it. Vets determined that she had a ruptured eardrum and an old and painful injury to one of her knees. Treatment and recovery began, although she remains lame in her right rear leg and the limb cannot support much weight. Daisy also has an unusual dome-shaped head and is thought to be hydrocephalic, a condition that might mean seizures or other problems in the future.

All this doesn't keep the pretty cream-colored kitty with lynx-point markings from enjoying life and having fun. She's a playful but gentle kitten and quickly works her way into your heart. The Humane Society folks believe she'd make someone an especially sweet pet because "an animal with special needs brings a special kind of love in your life."

Daisy was rescued yesterday, and is now recuperating from her spay operation also yesterday at Kritter's temporary home in Texas.

Today, Daisy is the undisputed Queen of Pensacola, FL. She shows zero signs of any "special needs" .. no limping, no seizures, just 7 lbs of total confidence and fearlessness. And don't let those big blue innocent eyes fool you, more times than not she is the instigator in whatever trouble she can lure her brothers and sister into.

Heres Daisy now...modeling her multi toed front paws.
